I wonder what the end game is here, he clearly has some working toys and the ability to make more despite sanctions.
His country has an unpleasant history with America and England so his desire to be able to defend his land from us and other invaders is understandable.
Isn't it time Trump gave over the posturing and instead welcomed him, even begrudgingly, to the negotiation table. Hes proved his point and deserves a little respect now.
If you turned the situation around, you potentially turn on the tap of a large, motivated, cheap labour force that could be tasked to do less destructive work for the capitalistic world that surrounds it.

I think he is looking for the same diplomacy that Iran eventually got, even if Trump doesn't like it (or probably doesn't even understand).
