Default Astra 1.4 MK 5 hose leak.

Hello, my mark 5 astra water pump decided it didnt want to work anymore, so I fitted a brand new one. After driving it about for a bit i noticed a tiny pool underneath the water pump and realised that after completely cooling down the hose from the radiator to the water pump ws slowly dripping. The OEM spring clip that was on the hose actually pinged off somewhere and the only thing i had to hand was a jubilee clip, which i think is the problem as i've read that it needs a constant tension clip. i have looked everywhere for a constant tension clip and cannot find one that will suffice, does anybody know where i can get one from and is there some sort of gasket or sealant that can go round the inside of the hose to make it water tight, I'm at my wits end after 3 days of faffing about. Thankyou for your help.

Try your nearest Euro Car Parts or Vauxhall dealer. If neither of those are a sensible option, I found https://www.advancedfluidsolutions.co.uk using Google.

Couldn't say for sure without seeing it but I've never had a jubilee clip not seal, always prefered a jubilee clip over them springy clips.

The hose would be under pressure till the thermostat opened .If the hose is long enough , just cut it back about an inch and use the same clip.

I managed to get an some OEM clips and a brand new OEM hose by finding right part numbers from this site: http://ecat24.com/opel/catalog/models/1/ thanks for the help. I think the hose is very worn at the joining end so easier to replace than spend days on it.
