    Advice help moving wordpress to new domain

    Im a little stuck can anyone help?

    Im trying to move a wordpress install from one domain to another but im getting database connection error.

    Things i have done.

    Backed up site and database
    imported files and database to new domain
    edited wp-config.php to new databse name and password

    What am i missing?

    Plenty of tools/plugins that take care of the entire process of this.

    Wordpress??? Really ? It is fucking shit imho but lets not get into this ;-)

    If you cant find a plugin to sort you let me know. Sounds like it is using the domain/db path as the database location as opposed to server/path

    Edit: I got that back to front but you know what I mean :-)

    It will definitely be an issue with wp-config.php

    Server, username, database name and password will all need updating.

    use backupbuddy or wp-clone, they make the process really simple.

    Yes wp-clone, couldnt remember the name of it but have used this on loads of sites and never had issues.

    I used All-In-One WP migration.

    So bloody easy download file and upload to new install and it copied everything all I had to do was activate the theme I was using.
