    Default The Orville

A Seth macfarlen Sci-fi show with a very big nod to startrek.. on to the 5th episode and loving it.
A good mix of funny bits mixed in with it think good story lines it's not just stupid humour at all far from it
    Hope it gets next season

I spotted Jonathan Frakes from the Next Generation actually directed the last episode.

What can I say but wow. I saw this when looking for something else and completely dismissed it as some shitty spoof.

How wrong was I ? I just watched 4 episodes back to back. A very very passable and enjoyable adventure sci-fi. It reminded me of when TNG used to do the odd jokey episode and they usually turned out to be the classics.

    Excellent series.

I was waiting for this since it was announced as a big Fan of Seth like American dad and family guy.
Not only does it have some really good effects like a decent sci-fi tv show but it actually has a storyline to it.

Im shocked as like most expected puns galore with crap jokes but none.
    Definately worth a watch.

Even though I realy like the new star trek I am acutely enjoying this more love the story lines in them.
The story the other week about social media and the public vote I thought was a good reflection on how we are obsessed with it .

Hope it gets a second series

watched about 6 episodes of this so far and its really good.
I expected it to be more about jokes and funny than serious but it actually has a good balance.
Its like a less serious series of star trek with added dick jokes.
You know he grew up as a little shitspark from the old shitflint and then he turned into a shitbonfire and driven by the winds of his monumental ignorance he turned into a raging shitfirestorm. If I get to be married to Barb I'll have total control of Sunnyvale and then I can unleash the shitnami tidal wave that will engulf Ricky and extinguish his shitflames forever. And with any luck he'll drown in the undershit of that wave. Shitwaves.

The last episode I watched was a classic Star Trek filler episode too. I'm enjoying it.

I am enjoying the show but that episode was such a rip off of the black mirror episode nose dive.

I watched a couple of these last night and quite enjoyed them, the only thing I don't like much is I find Seth MacFarlane very wooden and forced as an actor, his script writing abilities are superb I just struggle believing him as an actor. I will continue to watch and see how it goes on.

It’s okay yeah. I struggle tho to separate is it serious or is it a piss take tho.

    Bits like:
    Spoiler:
the alien chap sitting on his egg, then as it transpires there’s a fairly decent back story about said alien culture and women

Effects are good and scripts well written so far.

The Practical Joke Episode is the best of the series so far. Not enough laughs since though.

I only ever liked the original Star Trek series and have to say after watching 4 episodes of this I'm liking it, it doesn't have over the top humour and it does have great special effects with decent story lines.

    Thanks for the heads up.
