I just saw this over on Twitter - turns out you can get past the login boxes quite easily by using the root username with no password.

The quick fix is to open a terminal window and run 'sudo passwd -u root' and then enter a new password.

    Absolutely bonkers

Saw a similar post from Free BSD yesterday but didnt really read it.
As IOS is a GUI on top of FreeBSD then I suppose that makes sense.

yeah had a steady stream of people at work with MacBooks popping over yesterday asking me to update their root password to stop this happening, makes a change from them saying how good their OS is and how its bulletproof compared to Windows.

Did make me chuckle, I have a MacBook Pro and a MS SurfaceBook and I dont prefer one over the other so I can happily swap between them but I am the exception at work as people are very into one or the other, bit like Sega and Nintendo on the playground back in the day
You know he grew up as a little shitspark from the old shitflint and then he turned into a shitbonfire and driven by the winds of his monumental ignorance he turned into a raging shitfirestorm. If I get to be married to Barb I'll have total control of Sunnyvale and then I can unleash the shitnami tidal wave that will engulf Ricky and extinguish his shitflames forever. And with any luck he'll drown in the undershit of that wave. Shitwaves.

Yeah we got people here who think the Apple are the 2nd coming and microsoft are crap compared. My current stance is Windows may have security flaws but so do Apple and at least there no such thing a "Windows Pay" as if Apple can make a howler like this with there OS are you right to trust them explicitly with everything else??
