Ant McPartlin held over drink-driving after collision

TV presenter Ant McPartlin has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after a collision involving three vehicles in south-west London.
The Metropolitan Police said officers were called to Lower Richmond Road in Mortlake at 15:59 GMT.
The ambulance service and London Fire Brigade also attended and a number of people were treated for minor injuries.
Police said a 42-year-old man was arrested at the scene after failing a roadside breathalyser test.
He has been taken to a south London police station for questioning.
A child passenger in one of the cars was taken to hospital for a check up as a precaution, the Met added.
Ant McPartlin co-hosts several ITV shows with Declan Donnelly, including Britain's Got Talent, I'm A Celebrity and Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway.

The ITV news was absurdly biased on this, this evening.

It was all about Ant getting treatment and the girl going to hospital was just a precaution. All very much being played as 'poor guy'.

Very little reference to the fact that he may have committed a serious criminal offence.

I have very limited sympathy for him. From things I have picked up over the years, he clearly has Mental Health problems which has maybe contributed to his fuck ups, which may well have in turn contributed to his marriage breaking up etc
This by no means excuses what he just did and he hopefully will be punished by the full extent of the law which I suppose depends on what the actual amount over the limit was ...

Have seen numerous interviews with him in and the opinion I formed was he came across quite a humble chap. I by no means have enough knowledge to say this with any accuracy.
I hope he sorts himself out personally.

He is VERY lucky that he will likely be looking at a Ban and hefty fine. Had anybody been seriously injured then the silly fucker would be looking at Jail time.

I hope he does right by the little girl he injured....
Maybe this is the final kick up the arse he needs and we will hear him on Radio 5 in about 5 years time ;-)
