    Default Hot tub removal/disposal

Moved into our new home last week and the previous owners left the hot tub. We said it was okay for them to leave it as I have a mate who said he would take it even though it needs craning over the house. However now he's been to look at it and realised how much it would cost to crane it over he's decided he can't take it. So now im stuck with it.
So instead of paying around £500 to get it took away I'm going to cut it up and take it piece by piece to the tip. It's a solid fiber glass jobby with 5 seats, around 6ft by 6ft.
My question is what's best to cut it up with?
I'm considering a chainsaw or a reciprocating saw, I think the chain saw will be messy but quick while the reciprocating saw will be slow but a little tidier.
    Anyone got experience in this?

    lol don't use a chainsaw
a small grinder will suffice, but make sure you wear a mask/goggle as the dust is not very nice

Personally I'd go for a heavy duty Multicutter, or rent/borrow a large angle grinder with a diamond blade.

I've dismantled an old fibreglass boat from a yard this way before. Multicutter allows you mobility around smaller cuts etc, and the large grinder a day hire will make small work of the longer/thicker section.

I do have an angle grinder but I figured it would take ages with that. Look how long it took to go through that bath! The hot tub is about a centimetre thick fiber glass.

Just an update on this, used a chainsaw with face dust mask and safety goggles, glad I didn't use an angle grinder as it would have taken ages. Chainsaw cut through it pretty well allbeit a bit messy but nothing a quick sweep didn't sort out. 2m by 2m cut into 9 bits and three journeys to the tip in the car.

    Thanks to Soulassassin
