Changing Dash

Hi all,
I hear that you can change the dash but I dont understand what are the advantages of doing it? and how do I install the new dash?

Well for staters you can run games off the hd. This is a nice way to test the games or to run the emulators. Thats where i put all of my emus plus the roms. Also you can make backups of your original xbox games.

Im new to X-box and would like to learn how to burn the games off the hd.(or however it is done) Does anyone know of a site with a good step by step they could share?
