I wouldn't move to sweden just to get some faster cable, coz i think that's just stupid. You'll just get caught carrying lot of warez back and forth and if you don't speak swedish you're in trouble.
I don't see any other reason using fast connection than downloading lot warez from internet. Specially p2p program called DC(Direct Connect) is mostly(over 50% imho) invaded by BBB and other fast users from sweden.

as Ghetto said, bredbandsbolaget for just 25 bucks
(10mbit down & up) but i think they are raising the price
to $29,50 a month soon, not sure tho.
the entry fee is around $100 or something like that,
but only certain cities have the ability to use bredbandsbolaget.

if you move to stockholm, you can get 10mbit for free,
if you live in the inner city.

you can get all broadband isps at this adress:
    http://internetworld.idg.se/Tjanster/bredband/

it's in swedish, but if you divide the price (like Cenara (10-100mbit) with 10, you get the price in USD.

some isps can deliver 100mbit aswell, mail them and
ask if you have any questions.

as far as speeds go, i find SU.net went faster than BBB (in my experiences) but have no knowledge of the ISP (i presume its public) unfortunately.

GAVLE is fast to some places, but slow as hell to most, so don't be too tempted by it.

If you mean sunet you are correct. Sunet is the fastest connection sweden has to offer I think. But it stands for Swedish University Network, so basically it's just universitys that have sunet.

It used to be 150mbit/s but it's being upgraded to GigaSunet which will be a sweet 10gbit/s

Edit: Oh yeah, and here's a info file thingy on GigaSunet... in English... and in PDF if anyone's interested.

Don't bother with Bostream (BoNet) if you'll only be here for a couple of monthz (cuz you sign up for at least a year)

You swedish are damn too spoiled with your connections. What do those ISPs really think that you are going to use it for?

those who have access to broadband are pretty spoiled i guess, but consider that there are only 12% of the people in Sweden that has access to broadband.
Fortunately, I will be one of those 12 percent next week

Damn you guys are lucky! I gotta pay $35 for 512kbps up and 15 down (cable), Plus download is limited to 3 Gigs. I guess Australia is ancient when in it comes to broadband.

I wish I lived in Sweden.

I live in Sweden and I wish I lived in Austrailia. Damn fucking cold up here. Nevermind the bandwith, I'm freezing my ass off.

    Maybe we could swap locations?

    .

I don't mind cold whether, in Australia there are places where it snows almost 12 months, but broadband is a completely different thing

    Swapping is a great idea
