iam about to buy a game boy advance, and iv'e been hearing about these "flash carts" and being able to "copy" and "download" games, and play them like REAL games on a gameboy advance.

i haven't been keeping up with this sort of thing, ever since the dreamcast died.

so what is this all about?

I am also thinking about buying a GBA with 256Mb Flash 2 Advance Linker but I was wondering, will there be some games that use special chip in their cartridge to have those special effects. Then are we screwed? Thanks.

so let me get this straight,

GameBoy Advance 512M Flash Xtreme Linker Set ='s

USB, and the CARTARIGE, is seperate from the "link base" so i dont need batteries for the cartarige?

Gameboy Advance 256M Flash Link Set ='s

PRINTER PORT, and the cartarige is PART of the "link base" so i need batteries for the cartarige?

003, maybe you should take a look at the Flash2Advance thread a few threads down.

The Flash2Advance kit is very nice, fewer probs with the 256mbit kit than with the USB Xtreme kits. The USB kit is a bit faster, but not really that much and the significantly higher price isn't really worth it.
