Well, you aren't gonna get anything any cheaper than a pioneer...

If you have the money I recommend Sony's new DRU500A, cause it can burn at 4x (although there arent any 4x DVDR's yet), and it supports both +R and -R

    Default Yeah panasonic are cheap

www.pricewatch.com click dvd drives then see brands and search for the best price on a panasonic drive which supports +R just a few more benfits for the same price as a pioneer drive. Wont help with ps2 tho but for pc format its a whoel lot better.

Default Real slow tho dude reall slow

You'd be better off waiting for 3rd generation pioneer drives, You probably wont pay much more than what teh a04 costs now. I wouldnt recomend the sony drive since they have rushed to get it out first and we all know how good SONY CDR Drives and CD Roms are! LoL and if you dont know they suck ASS!!! Big time!!!
50minutes+ is just to long I reckon 4x writter should be down to 30min or so which is gettign better. 3rd generation is where it will all take off liek with cdr.

Indeed. I've had both a 24X and 32X Lite-on and both are fantastic. Their DVD-ROM drives are also known to be great as well. They pulled an AMD and sorta smacked the burner crown off Plextor's head since their drives are just as good and hella cheaper. I second the notion that they start making dvd burners!
