This game will be out in a few days. Seems to be an interesting rpg. How was the xbox/ps2 versions.

Cool, they included lightsabers.
Of course they included lightsabers.
Gandalf will teach Frodo how to use the force of the ring to handle a lightsaber.
Later Frodo has to go to dark realm of Empire - Mordor
to defeat the evil emperor Sauron in hand to hand battle only to find out that
Sauron is his father.
I guess no one has any interest in this game.

Well, that sucks. Anoyher good idea ruined. Goddamn, why the hell blizzard is the only company that knows how to do a good game? I sorry. And id software.
U guys agree with me? Best 2 developers ever - Blizzard and id.
i think u could put stick interplay in there (for the fallout series)
The rest is just plain shoit.
For the best two, yes.Originally posted by Kerin

Io Interactive, Eidos, and Raven are also good.
I cant wait to play this game. And im sure anyone who really loves lotr is going to love the game too. I mean common Tom Bombadils in it, what more could you ask for. Anyways the reviews arn't all that bad.
well, westwood studios was a good company as well till EA got them.
best companys
blizzard, capcom, konami and sega
=)
The screen shots look cool good. I hope the game play stands up. And for all Non-Believers...The Lord Of The Rings kicks ass!!!
I too think that LOTR is good... but I don't see this game as being anything special.Originally posted by bananakin

if you're a real lotr fan some of the errors in the story will horify you.... in the openeing sequence gandalf grabs the ring with his hand and looks at it. If that actually happened according to middle-earth that would have pretty much been the end of the world...lol
either way running around as a hobbit throwing rocks at the ring wraiths who cant touch you because you jumped over a 3 foot high stone wall isn't much fun.

More like a "book" guy (you know, those thick white things with black scribble on).Originally posted by eXistenZi

Actually, come to think of it - it would be SOME comic (the whole LOTR with comic pictures)... about 54 inches thick?
Anyway, to clear up a couple things about the game..
Firstly (and quite oddly) this game was developed for the XBOX by "WXP" and the PC/PS2 versions were developed by "surreal" (the PS2 and PC versions are supposed to be almost identical).
I think that it excepted that the Xbox version is poorer than the PS2/PC version.
Info can be found here (after you have skipped the add)
pc.ign.com/articles/369/369734p1.html
I don't think you can judge this game on the xbox version.
Secondly, This game is based on the BOOK (that big white thing with black scribble on). Folks who have only seen the film, might be a bit lost - as there was a lot of stuff chopped out of the film that appear in this game.
Also, obviously if your expecting the characters to look like they did in the film, you will be dissappointed - cause they don't.
Fro-dly (words-R-us) I believe that the whole idea of the game is that you actually play as three characters through out the game.
Gandalf the Wizard,
Aragorn the kick ass
Frodo the frog with furry feet
Not a bad idea I think, as this game caters for the
Nutter slash and hack (Aragorn)
Hermit dungeon and dragon (Gandalf)
Sneaky Hidey Thiefy (Frodo)
Now Iīm a bit confused, whatīs this then:
http://www.ea.com/eagames/official/l...s/features.jsp
I know itīs The Two Towers, but rumors say that they have skipped The Fellowship Of The Ring because itīs "to late" and are concentrating on The Two Towers. I mean if the game is supposed to be like the one on the page above then the game looks very promising, and you can only play as the Ranger, Elf and the Dwarf (Donīt really know their names), so there will be no Frodo. AND, iīt is supposed to come to PC aswell even though itīs not mentioned on the site, dont really know.
I was looking at the screens in GameSpot (http://gamespot.com/gamespot/filters...561973,00.html) and they suck big time (and as you can see you can play as Frodo)
So someone shed some light on this
Yes - There are two game companies creating LOTR games.
The one we are talking about is based on the Book (versions for the PC/PS2 & XBOX)
The "EA" game is based on the film! (version for the PS2, but looking unlikely for the PC).
If you have a PS2, it is confusing because there are two LOTR games to pick from, however it looks like the PC will only be getting the one!
