The newest verison of Nero does work. You have to make sure that you select DVD (iso) when given the opportunity. I had this problem for a while, until I noticed what was going on. Here's what you have to do:

    Select:
    File-> New ->DVD

and then choose DVD-ROM (iso), hit "Open" and select your iso to burn and hit "Open"

for some strange reason, Nero switches back to "Cd-Image".

I've never noticed this before, but you actually have to re-choose "DVD".

I haven't had a problem burning in Nero since I saw this.

Don't worry about this burner. It is excellent. I've never even made a coaster yet. Also, an update of RecordNow Max should be out soon that will dupport this drive.

do you start from the wizerd , or pick from nero list ?
when i start from the nero list dvd iso . there is no way to load an img. that i can see .

i,ve used nero a thousand times for svcd movies .

I am using the same version 5.5.9.14.

    Don't use the wizard.

Just hit file->new. Make sure you choose DVD from the upper left pull down menu. Choose DVD-Rom (iso). Hit "open" (bottom right-hand corner. Choose "image files" from the "files of type" pull down menu. Pick your iso file (hit open or double click your file). Then, here's the key, you must choose DVD again from the upper-left pull down menu. (I'm not sure why Nero defaults back to CD.) Then hit "Write" (upper right-hand corner)

    Works every time......

Dell, go to techbargains.com and wait around for a 10 or 15% stackable coupons.
Most people are geting this for $249.

    tflash,

I am using Imation DVD-Rs right now. They are kinda pricy, but they work really well. I have ordered some Princo DVD-Rs. They are very inexpensive. I will let you know how they work when I get them....others have said that they work well with this burner & the xbox.

What about DVD+ Media? I think there is 4x Speed of +R. Would be sweet with the DRU500A Drive.

$250??? Wow that's the same price I would pay if I got a 2X Plextor DVD-RW burner from local stores. Anyone know of good reliant places to order?
