    Default MP3 Software

I've posted this here cuz its a specific request and quite a lot of people hav mp3's so i mite get a beta response here.

Basically I've got all of my mp3's in winamp (about 3000) so i can just press j and access ne 1 i want. Now weneva I get a song I edit the ID3 tag but not the file name. I want 2 tidy up my collection by giving all of the files their id3 names. Its a pretty simple job but cud take ages, is ther ne software which cud do this?

    Cheers

There's a utility called MoodLogic that does just that, but it's a pay software.

Tag & Rename also does it. It's also pay however plenty of cracks out there for it.

cheers guys, got my files renamed.

Winamp has all the names as I like them, it shows id3v2 if ther is id3v2 and id3v1 so sumtimes id3v1 is not done properly. My mp3 player only reads id3v1 though so what I want is sum software to copy id3v2 to id3v1 (even if it does truncate it). ne ideaz?

Got a program call Abander TagControl from the link above and it looks very powerful with the ability to copy filename to tag or IDv2 to IDv3 or vica versa.

The best thing I like is that you can do a search on Freedb for an album and download the track info. Then rename the mp3s from the downloaded information. So any albums named Track 01, Track 02 etc can be renamed pretty easily

Although I coundnt get the latest version working, I found an older version that works very well.

    Are your tags 1.x (ID3v1)?

    Maybe they are 2.x (ID3v2)??

Right click on the file in winamp (www.winamp.com) and select file info. Version 2 is on the right Version 1 is on the left.

Bitch monkey said 'Got a program call Abander TagControl from the link above and it looks very powerful with the ability to copy filename to tag or IDv2 to IDv3 or vica versa.'

So try that for changin them.

btw wen he sed idv2 to idv3 he probs meant idv1 to idv2

EDIT: Just used the software 2 copy all id3v2 to id3v1. As far as i can tell it only copies it if ther was already sumthin in the id3v1 box (ie thers a tik in the id3v1 box on winamp file info). So its not much good then if ur files are only v2, i'll edit again if and wen i find software 2 do it.

You can do it with TagControl, its just not as easy as it should be! I have ver1.2.

To do it have the mp3 in the explorer window of TagControl and make sure it is checked. Right click it and choose Advanced Tag Editor. A new window will pop up and u can copy to and from Id3v1.

    There you go!

u can use winamp 2 copy to and from id3 tags if u r just doing it individually but its a bit more problematic if u hav about 3000.
