bios password
i trying to format, get rid of partitions and install xp on my pc but i cant get into the bios as it needs a password which was installed by the company who sold the pc (who no longer exist). is there any way round this so that i can get into it?

i used to be indecisive, but now i'm not so sure
Have a look on the motherboard there may be a jumper near the cmos battery or cmos chip swap the jumper over power on for a second or two then change back.
If not you will need a bios flash.

take out the cmos battery thats on the m/b and leave it out for about 30mins
i did it with mine and it took the password off
