Default Lucas Says He's Got Story for Indiana Jones 4

Many interesting things came out of last night's annual New York Film Critics Awards dinner. For one thing, Star Wars creator George Lucas told me that he wrote the story for Indiana Jones 4 last summer and expects to shoot it sometime this year with Steven Spielberg

Whats the chances of Harrison Ford doing it, Dont think that morbid bugger has smiled since 1989 (Last Crusade)

Though Lucas & speilberg may Use the James bond method

A new Indy film would be great - just hope it doesn't get ****ed up like the Star Wars films did.. There was a line in the latest Buffy episode about that - "I haven't been this bored since Episode One"

Sean Connery should be cool but Harrison Ford is getting on a bit now, don't know if it would be that realistic but who cares - it's Indy

This seems like the way to go. Providing they picked a decent replacement for Ford it will probably work. Brendan Fraser would have been perfect if it wasn't for the fact that he starred in the Mummy in a mirror role.

Also, I wouldn't be surprised if the new story has Indy bump into the son he never knew he had. I can see it now… they both fight to be first to retrieve a magical and ancient artefact.

That's actually a really good idea - be quite amusing if Mr Ford stayed as Indy & Brendan played his son - get your idea posted to yourself quick just in case

    Default Dates practically confirmed

Seems that Both Speilberg and Ford have agreed a 2004 start date for Indy 4. He will more than likely try to do his own stunts but his damaged knee (from fugative) may prevent it. Although the stuntman that has been his double on all the films still works in Universal Studios on the Indy Stunt special.

Im sure we shall here more when raiders is released this Christmas.

I doubt if there will be anothe box set release as there has been nothing but wrangling over this one!!!

Spielburg and Lucas wanted to release the Films in stages to as to lead up to and promote the 4th film in 2004/5. But Universal know that DVD sales of Temple and Crusades will not match Raiders so have won the arguement to release all 3 in one pack.

This also allows them to reduce the amount of extra's they would have to provide for individual releases in the current climate.

We are fussy now about what we buy nowadays!!!!

Ever since the 2002 Golden Globes when Harrison Ford and Steven Spielberg announced that they would be teaming up with George Lucas for a fourth Indiana Jones outing, we've been waiting to hear when Spielberg will be fitting the movie into his packed schedule.

Now we hear, courtesy of none other than Sir Sean Connery, that Spielberg might not be taking on Dr Jones at all. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight at the press junket for The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen Connery claims that Spielberg won't be taking on directorial duties for the fourth sequel.

'All I know is that someone called the office and said that Steven was not doing the movie,' explains Connery, 'that Harrison had in fact verbally agreed to do another one and would I be interested? And I said of course I would. I had a very good experience with him.

'[I was] disappointed to hear that Steven wouldn't be doing it, but in the end it all comes down to how good the script is - if it's really workable.'

If Spielberg isn't going to direct Indy IV, who will take on the reins? Our money's on Frank Darabont, who's already hard at work writing the script.

NB: Since this story went live yesterday, Lucasfilm have since reported that, and we quote, 'There is no truth to the rumor.' Obviously Sir Sean needs to update his sources.
