on digital freeview

From previous posts i see that you don't require a card to watch the freeview channels.

I am speaking for a relative so i have no first hand idea about what to look for, i need to tell him by phone how to get the freeview channels, i told him to do a restore and then scan for new channels, he said he couldn't find out how to do restore but done a scan and got 29 channels, he didn't know what to do after though!?

Any help would be very much appreciated, Thanks guys.

He doesn't have it m8! It was bought as a dead box.

tell him to go into options and look for Store Channels ... NOT add channels, all add channels will do is add any new ones...

but since bbc took over there are lots of new chans and almost none of the old ones, so a store channels will delete the old line-up (since its pish now anyway, that wont make any difference..) if he doesnt get all the channles in the first go (happens sometimes) then tell him to do an add channels, then he should pick up all the chans available to him...
