    Default radios

hi i was wondering if anyone could tell me where i can get 2 way radio or walkie talkies that transmit over a 5 mile radius, i have been searching the net, but i can only find the radios that cost over £200 i need them cheaper than that, as i want them to be affordable for a student (me)

simple. Get an amateur radio license. They are very easy to get now at the novice level and you will the be able to transmit on a range of bands with enough power to get you speaking to people miles away.

all depends what you want to use them for. That might be to offical a route to take but it would mean good cheap equipment. I got a 5 watt handheld for 144 mhz for 60 quid sometime back.

Is that like a CB radio mate?

I know you can get them to work wireless and fairly mobile, you can also pick them up cheap on ebay or from a local taxi office who has a few spare, not dont it in years though, i wonder if there is still a scene?
