Which is the best box to get hold of? either a 1000 model or a 4000?
I'm thinking of ease of modifying and end results.
Is there any difference?

i would say the easist would have to be the ditv1000/2000 box's
it also depends on the software the box has. not all software with operate well with a funcard for example. and not all software will give you everything with a mosc.
