    Which programming langauge???

    Just i bit of advise really, ive started reading up on c++

    covering topics as pointers, arrays, structures and functions however i would greatly like to know what version of c++ should i use, im looking at creating windows applications and have looked at direct x.

    There seems to be so many software packages around, i just dont know which one 2 choose. borland, visual c++, delphi

    any help would be great from those that already write there own programs and code....

    Get Visual C++ ... especially the .Net version if you have a pokey machine.

    I've been using it since it's v1.0 16-bit incarnation many years ago and it keeps getting better and better.

    if you are going to do windows programming Visual Studio C++ is fine, C++ is a very complicated language and its probably the hardest to learn (bar machine code/assembly).. If you are starting out, then I would recommend that you learn a less complex language first and then build up to C++.. Learning the OO concepts and understanding how the memory allocation and stacks work can be very hard.
