8310 Unlock Problem

I unlocked my Nokia 8310 with the data cable. After inserting the Sim all seemed fine until I tried to dial a number. When I dialled, it would give the Invalid Number tone. I've tried a few different numbers and it happens on all of them. I've tried different Sims and its the same.
Any ideas?

Hi,

Do you mean you get 3 beeps?
If so, this isn't the same as the invalid number tone.

It simply means that the phone is barred, due to being lost/stolen etc.

Yeah... 3 beeps mate.
But I thought if I unlocked it I would be able to use it on a different network. (not the one its been barred on)

They bar them on ALL networks now m8.
