Default Force Feedback2 driver problem with WinXP

    Hi All

I have tried and tried to get this bloody thing working but I am not getting anywhere.

I have just bought this USB joystick and when installing it using the disk provided, it recognises that the stick is inserted when it is supposed to be. Then it looks for a driver. The problem is that even searching the disk provided and the winXP disk, it still cant find drivers for this hardware.

I've trawled the net, but cant find any help and even microsofts site is unhelpful.

    Has anyone any ideas?

PS I do have a motherboard with a VIA chipset, but any updates are pre-XP so I guess the XP VIA drivers are OK.

    Hi All

don't bother looking. Just found out that th eproblem is with the VIA USB Host controller on the motherboard. Apparently, there are quite a few problems with the VIA chipset on some motherboards and this is just one of them.

Just bear in mind that when buying a new motherboard that an Intel chipset is probably a better idea.

The way round my problem is to buy a new PCI USB card.
