Default NTL and Super Baby J cube

    Hello

I was wondering if someone might be able to help me out on this. I have NTL analouge cable (General Instruments box) with a Super baby J which gives me all the channels. (It`s see-through box with red and yellow LEDs)
The problem that I have is that if I leave it on for more than 40mins I loose all the channels, even the basic ones for an hour or so. I currently have to switch it on for 10 seconds every 40 mins to get all the subscription channels.
Do I have to set it up some how. I`ve noticed that it responds to some buttons on the cable remote. Also, Is it tracable?
I don`t have a manual for it so any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

    Default baby j

Not to familar with that baby j

Had plenty of educational experience with single and three button cube
it sounds like the baby j is restoring back to default
is there a button squence on this one
if the leds flash every 30 seconds it is in stleath mode otherwise its open to bullets(if they still bother sending them)

the baby j is one of the first in line hacks the cable companies are well aware of them and they are detectable but only from the box at the end of your street not the head end
i don't think they have a stealth mode but i might be wrong i can't remember but i suspect they know how to defeat them by now hence your box going off every so often

    Thanks your your replies

Is physically chipping the box the best soultion? You wouldn`t be able to point me in the right direction to buy or make my own would you, eg, the programmer, the type of chip, hex and where i could get a wiring diagram from?

    Thanks in advance
