    Default Zeus Programmers

    Hi all

I need clarification on if the Zeus will programme the funcards to do a digital hack. How can you tell which crystal is in the programmer?

    Cheers

Oops - Sorry peeps - I forgot to intorduce myself.

I am the guy who writes all the digital helpfiles and provides them free of charge at http://www.helpfiles.co.uk

I will be releasing a version for the Digi hack in the next two weeks - but need some extra bits of info.

    Hence the question.

BTW - question 2 would be does a Zeus work on the funcards? I am doing a spot in the helpfiles about which programmers to use, why and where to get them.

hi dataferret. i used the zeus to prog my purple funcard, but could never get it to read my rom 10 card. using cardwriter sofyware. it took me a while, as i kept entering the wrong info. d'oh. but in the end it worked perfectly. all 220 channels inc ppv.

btw. my zeus was supposed to be fitted with 3.68 crystal, but turned out to be a 3.58, as were most peeps from dire-interfaces.

    Hi Borrowashboy

Cheers for the reply. Is there any way to tell which crystal is in the Zeus? I also have one and am curious.

I don't mind buying a pheonix or another progger myself but some prefer to use just one or at least know why they need to buy another. Info is sketchy on this at best

    cheers

i think it's actually printed on the crystal, perhaps somebody can confirm this. i gave mine to a mate who checked it out and gave me the bad news. i used an id progger from maxking to do the rom 10 card, after several days of trying with the zeus. i changed psu several times, all to no avail. the zeus did the funcard easily though.

    Hi M8

Aside from the fact the ROM 10 card can be reprogrammed, what is the difference between using a ROM 10 and a Fun card? Are there any restrictions on the ppv or anything? Is there any benefit over a ROM 10 as opposed to a funcard?

Also, if someone finds out they do not have a ROM 10 - say they have a ROM 7, can this be reprogrammed or can they go get a ROM 10 and somehow marry it to the box?

The issue of the cards does leave me with lots of holes in the helpfiles

    Hope you can help

    cheers

the main thing at the mo is that rom 10 cards are supposedly being zapped and having backdoor keys changed so they can't be re-written, rendering them useless. the funcards have all ppv [well mine does anyway] and not prone as yet to this zapping. as for rom 7 they are not proggable yet afaik, but you can read the details off them and prog a funcard with the info. as to the elvis, i've no idea. never used one. hope this is some help, off out for beer now, so logging off.

Hey JPM486 - howzit hanging? Good to hear from you bud.
I am almost done with the new Digital helpfile. Should be ready this week sometime.

Have you got any decent destructions for progging the card using nagra-edit?

This new helpfile contains lots of updated info for the analogue too. The Digital ones have some excellent pics.

I could use some info on where to get the funcards (reliable sites) and also any info and oics of the different types of proggers avaioable along with reasons why one is better than another. Come to think of it - wanna write the tutorial on the proggers? U can do that ....

    catch you soon
