I put this onto a standard HD, didn't do a backup 1st though.

Now it works perfectly with evox dash but if I disable my MOD with the switch (Using X2-Pro) I get the initial flubber animation followed by a black screen telling me my XBOX needs service in green writing in about 6 different languages. There is a white "13" in the top left of the screen also. Has anyone ever seen this ??

I'm presuming it's software related, how can I set the drive back to it's former glory using boxexplorer or FlashFXP ??

What files does the autoinstaller actually do ??

I found this over at xboxscene

13 - kernel - Dashboard launch fail (due to missing/bad key, or anything else that would prevent it from running) and the dashboard didn't specify why it failed.

I've also read that I need to change my msdash to xboxdash.xbe and change the current xboxdash.xbe (evox) to evoxdash.xbe ?

Does this make sense ??

Error13: If you get error 13 while booting the retail bios (dual mode mod chip or BioXX), you can use option (11-1) "PATCH C: FOR Pre-XBOX LIVE / RETAIL BOOT" to make the "xboxdash.xbe" the M$ dash instead of EvoX since the retail bios expects to boot from the M$ xboxdash.xbe

To remedy this a lot quicker and easier do this.

Using the Slayers Auto Install v2.0

THere is an option in there called XBOX LIVE patch.

There are 2 seetings depending what you want to do
IF USING XBOX LIVE - Apply the POST XBOX LIVE patch
IF NOT USING XBOX LIVE - Apply the PRE XBOX LIVE patch

Also there is a program called config magic.

You will need to use this to Lock the XBOX HDD.

This will then run in all modes, chip enables, chip disabled etc etc perfectly.

If you choose PRE XBOX LIVE patch then later decide you want to use XBOX LIVE, you can just apply the other patch.

What this basically does, is rename all the relevent files to how they should be for optimum performance with how your XBOX is setup.
