If you are on dial up then the chances are that you will get a new IP address every time you connect, if you are on broadband then the length of time you keep the same IP address will depend on the DHCP servers lease time (which is set by the ISP).
The only exception to this rule is those that have a fixed IP address.

Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it

Some ISPs provide static IP ranges for BB connections, the reason for this is so you can host your own mail, web, ftp servers etc. The reason for the static IP address is that if the address kept changing then the DNS servers around the world that resolve domain names from IP Addresses wouldn't be able to direct you to the right address.

explain this one then if you can please.

Im on dsl but get a new IP everytime I reconnect my to the internet , I get booted by the provider once every 24 hours. In a certain Mirc channel where certain ftp lists can be obtained if you quit before 20 minutes then you cant get the list again. No problem you would think just cut the connection and dial in again and you have a new IP number. It doesnt work though somehow the bot knows exactly who you are and spouts shit at you like " Sorry you are on the no sender list 6 weeks 3 hours and 45 minutes ago you left the channel after only staying for 6 minutes 32 seconds" or something simular. Now how the hell does that work ?

in irc you have to on most servers have to set up an ident do a /whois ur nick and u will get summit like
    > Nick: ReName
    > Address: sonx@193.201.70.130 «Unknown»
    > Name: cam
    > Channels: @#sonx @#VooD +#digital-forums
    > Server: irc.Qeast.net, Got jupe?
    > Idle: 1 Hour and 3 Minutes
    > SignOn: Friday, February 28th, 2003 at 6:24pm
    > User List Catagory: Not in User Lists
    > Channels in common with rename: #digital-forums #sonx #Vood

(depending on wot irc clint your useing ) the ident is by your ip then theres your nick for irc and the real name field you have to put in plus your email address

so in my cass i have

my nick as ReName my ident is SonX and my name is cam there ways to beable to identafie you i guess if you changed all the fields inc your nick then u shud be okay

(dont worry thats not my real ip thats the ip of the sodding shell im with who still aint fixed there vhosts (bin a week now )

(17:18:34) (+Cam) i need to mount my xbox hdd in linux
(17:19:02) (+SpikeWork) youth of today, they'll mount anything

ok 4me2 its a long shot but the bot might log you as

    *![ur ident]@*

for example if u whois urself u shud get summate like

    4me2![your ident]@86.54.23.149.dsl.pipex.com

so if the bot logged you as *![ur ident]@* it would log you at any ip and any nick but for ur specific ident. Personally i would try changing ur ident and nick.

The only other possibility i can think of is that when ur ip changes its actually only changin to one its had before, ie your only changin between 3 or 4 different ip's, and the bot has banned all of them. Try keepin note of the ips you have and see if u always getting the same ones.

that still smartshells cam? they're shit lol - cant even run psybnc without being chucked off and the vhosts (when they work) are crap. go with binaryshells, its only like a dollar a month more, and you get much better vhosts
