    Rambus rims

    Heres the prob,

Got a SuperMicro PIIISCA M/B with a P3 667Mhz Processor - it came with a 128Mb RIMM and a 'continuity' rim in the other slot - I got a 256Mb rimm fro Ebay and stuck it in instead of the coninuity rimm.

The set will not progress an XP install beyond the disk formating stage - I always get a 'blue screen of death' type error message stating that the process has been halted to protect my machine.

The error messages vary but mainly seem to center on memory issues.

I have tried both RIMMS indiviually and I get the same problem.

    Any Ideas

Rimms have to go in matched pairs.

or in a single with a matched continuity terminator as you had before.

to use the 256 you bought you will need to either get another identical 256 or a maching terminator for the other slot of this pair.

The CRIMMS (Continuity RIMMS) normally come with your motherboard and you should of had at least 2.
You can use the CRIMM that you were using with the 128 stick with the 256 without any problems.
Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car
Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the back of your car
Horsepower is how fast your car hits the wall
Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it
