Ferrari chief wants tyre rule change

FERRARI PRESIDENT Luca di Montezemolo has said that he wants to see changes to the new rule which allows tyre manufacturers to bring only one type of wet weather tyre to a Grand Prix weekend.

"As I have always said, I believe that it was right to begin thinking of something new for Formula 1," Montezemolo said of the new rules in general, "But I believe that some decisions go against the very nature of the sport, like the rules regarding the parc fermé. I think that Brazil showed that it was a mistake to take away our ability to choose between two types of wet tyre, putting the drivers’ safety at risk."

He makes it sound like the FIA imposed that rule upon the teams.
