nba street 2

anyone had any probs with nba street 2 working or not?

I keep getting it resetting back to the dash doesn't seem to want to boot :S

I've tried the general patches but they don't help.....

if you have a PAL box switch it to NTSC mode.

yeh it was the pal/ntsc thing doh!!

I needed to use the enigmah video mode switching thingy to turn the box to ntsc then it worked fine.

I thought me being in 60HZ mode on hte MS dash meant NTSC games would work but obvioulsy not for all of em!

Yes, well.......
my nba street that i loaded on freezes rite at the start during the loading thing. It also froze rite at the beginning Red Faction 2. Rite now im trying deleting it and reinstalling it.....any thoughts???

rite m8 what have/havent you already tried.

have you been through the usual

try patching the game, if there is a specific patch for THAT game then get it, if not try the usual patchers (like crows).

try turning off IGR if you use it (3 in all)
try the videomode cd the change the region of your xbox.

so what if any have you already done m8

NBA Street 2 (USA) - CFN contained a Region style protection check which is why a lot of people had problems with it. Of course setting your box to NTSC using Enigmah-X Video Mode Selector worked for most that can run NTSC games on their TVs.

No one ever released the protection fix to public, but I'm sure for those that know what they're doing they could always make one and it is not the same as BMX XXX, so no byte comparing for you!

Now that's a little challenge for all these so called X-Box Scene hackers to fix... somehow I think they'll tell the PAL owners that can't run NTSC games due to cheap ass TV and no RGB fix to just grab the PAL release which was released the same day.... oh well!

I dont think thats a prob with red faction.. Only 3 ntsc games this has been a prob for me with are
007 nightfire
Toe Jam and earl
and nba street 2
using the ntsc/pal selector solved the prob.

All three of these froze at beginning.. how far into the game is red faction freezing on you?

They response is actually buy the game and back it up... hmmm what happens if u imported it ....

It is new protection... but i for one dont care about it.. I have a nice tv

Im sure someone will release patches for them if its get to the point of where the enigmah video selector doesnt work for them... oh welllll!

when it freezes on Red Faction....it immediatly just playes this sound over and over agian....thats it black screen and sound....

and about NBA street 2 i have it set at the ntsc setting.....

Red Faction 2 full DVD release should be fine if on decent DVDR media and with media check fix. Someone mentioned ADR Patcher routine worked on it, but a media check normally just keeps putting your Xbox into a reset loop to dash.

As for NBA Street 2, the CFN release was USA and the DNL release was PAL and if you run the USA version on a PAL eeprom system you should get the 'Dirty Disc Message'.

Anways, the NBA Street 2 (USA) can be fixed to run on PAL boxes without the use of Enigmah Video Mode Selector.

Hell, Vapour of Automation ain't cracked a game since the Atari ST days and even he did within a few a hours and he's not even up on Xbox although I did tell him at what offset to enter at and what instruction to look at.... but still.
