Domain forwarding

Hi

I have just bought my first domain from
123 reg about 10 mins ago.and as its
my first i was wondering how to forward
it to my personal web space.It said it
takes 24 to 48 hours to go through but
you can set up forwarding.but i could
see it.so i was wondering if anyone here
as any advice if they have used them before.
