BIOS Password help

Hi

My mate is has bought a computer from a friend. He does not know what the BIOS password is, the guy that sold it to him told him it was Freddy. After trying every combination of freddie/ fredy etc, he cant get in.

I asked what sort of mobo it was but he didnt know, just said somthing about Amercian Trends.

Is it possible to get into this BIOS ?

I did a search on this forum (should of done that before posting :shy: )

has the answer, I have downloaded KillCMOS, looks like it will do the job.

If you can get the PC to boot then you can run KillCmos from a floppy but if you can't get the PC to boot without entering the BIOS password you need to remove the CMOS battery for a few minutes to clear the BIOS settings (or move jumpers on motherboard)
