Cd Writing problem

Ok guys im hopin one of you smart doods can help me with this problem that in the many years ive had a cd writer ive never come across before.

right here goes

i burn a bin file by loading the cuefile in whatever program (ps2 game), now when i do it on this my main pc it wont work at all, it just goes to the memory card screen every time.

But if i burn on my second pc which is networked to the main pc, i burn across the network and it works just fine every time.

i use xp pro on both pc,s

as i say i never had this problem before.

im using an aspi for xb thing i was given by someone aswell
ive turned off the xp burning file thing in msconfig
i have tried removing the aspi xp thing

nothing i do makes any difference
i know its not the writer broke

so guys if anyone could help with this problem id realy really appreciate it. if u need any other info just ask

rite m8
main pc that dont work is an msi 48x ide writer
second one im using my pioneer dvd writer

but it sort of only just started happening m8, i never had this before, ive just installed xp on this pc, but the same thing happened before with win98, it the last few months it been happening.

and yeah m8 both pcs are configged the same

im stumped

So it's the MSI that doesn't work????

Have you tried a parallel Windows install to see if the problems happen in there too?

What software are you using to burn mate?

Have you tried popping the drive from the main machine into the second machine to see if that works?

yep the msi dont work, but it works fine for other burns, say data and pc stuff backing up files and that, thats whats so weirrd, youd think if it dont work then it just dont work period.

i tried nero, alcohol 120%, fireburner, cdrwin.

oh i forgot to say, on the pc that im havin trouble with i put in a scsi teac writer to test out, same thing happened, that didnt work wither, same thing it just went to the mem card screen.

i aint tried the msi in the second pc, but i will

so if the msi does work in the other pc then it obviously summit on this pc at fault, it just feckin finding out wot thats the problem

Have you tried the Adaptec ASPI stuff as a matter of interest?

Saying that though I don't think I needed it for Nero but I can't remember cos it's been that long since I set it up...

well on win98 i was using aspi 4.7
then when i installed xp i didnt install one at all
then i installed the aspi for xp thing


i dunno what else to do m8, its just oto weird that the writer works for other types of burns.

my advise dude is DL the aspi layer from adaptech
also do you get a toc when you try to read the disk back in the pc?

yeah when i put it back in the pc m8 i see the contents of the disc, when u put a ps2 disc in a pc u see some files and folders, well i see these ok, it just wont work in the ps2, so the disc HAS been written to.
