Just use enough water to cover your vegetables, the same goes for when you're having a bath....
LOL. I think your being a little hopeful there mate. There has NEVER been an offer on an I-pod that i know of. The only way i've seen to get them cheap is with student discount. The cheapest is PC World's 10% off with a student card but they never have any in stock. The next cheapest is directly from apple through the student and teachers store which has 7% i think.
Other than that there wont be one. They didnt even reduce the old models before the new ones were released so they sure as hell wont be reducing these ones when they've only been out for a couple of months
398.99 from amazon

best thing to look for is a voucher for somewhere 10% off would make it a good bargain.
maybe look for somewhere to import from might bring down the cost a bit.
Cheers lads.£400 notes it is then

get an archos
Photography: Nikon D50 - 18-55mm, 70-300mm, 105mm Macro, 2 x 2gb SD Cards, Jessops Tripod, LowePro Rucksack
No Way -The iPod is way better than the Archos in terms of Weight, Size, User Friendliness, Better Screen, Better Remote, Better build quality.
Although the new Philips is coming out, thats not supposed to be too bad.
Im :erm
doesnt the archos lock up all the time and the battery life goes down to about an hour after a few months of use and you cant buy new batteries
Why don't you want to buy from EBay mate?
I was looking at one of these a few weeks ago and you can get the UK ones for 349 on EBay BuyItNow - they're new too...
I nearly got one but I'm gonna buy one straight from the USA next time I go over...
Apple don't let any of their dealers give discounts unless it's an end of life product - they seem to get away with it too which is a bummer.
i just got the ipod 15gb for £299. They don't give much room for retailers to markup their prices, so the prices are kinda uniform across the board unless you find discounts/codes that apply. I'm only at the 'charging' stage at the mo, so can't exactly comment, but looks v. cool, I'm just hoping it can do file transfers that aren't mp3s, as i wanna be able to use it as a portable hard drive too.
bought from a national retailer who have a 28 ady moneyback guarantee tho so if they get the 30gb back in i can get an exchange hopefully :-)
miniboot. what shop you get it from?
I'm off to Singapore in a few weeks so I'm gonna wait and see how much I can get one from there. Although I suspect the best place to get one is probably the USA. Apple stuff's always way cheaper in the states.

Mine has NEVER locked up, The battery lasts for at least 8hours (continual play). The batteries ARE fully replaceable! The weight is exactly the same as the IPOD. It is a little chunkier (but then its £100 cheaper!) The build quality is fine and if you upgrade the firmare to Rockbox its got 100's more features than any other mp3 player on the market... and thats the facts. The archos is capable of recording and playing FM radio too.Originally posted by Imran

Also the IPOD is very difficult to upgrade the hdd, whereas the archos you can easily slip a bigger hdd in there. I'm getting an 80gb drive for mine.

There was a thread about the archos a while back and thats what they said, they also posted a link to a support forum that was completely flooded with complains about it saying exactly what i said before
