    Default England's Performance............

Just wanted to pay tribute to Wayne Rooney, it's so refreshing to see a player who wants to play no matter who its against. I know he's only 17 and he'll probably lose that youthful enthusiasm but he is fast becoming the best player in the side and adds so much quality to the frontline. I think he's a natural in that hole behind the strikers, his movement, vision and work rate can only improve as he gets more experience.

Now, the flip side of the coin, Frank Fukin Lampard, how the fuk did he ever make the England squad? He can't pass, he's not creative, he's got no vision whatsoever and the last 2 games have found him out big time. He'll soon be sitting on the bench at Chelsea once Makele beds in and hopefully Eriksson will see sense and drop the shite fuker from the England squad.

I agree m8, Rooney looked very good and creative. I think him and Owen are the strike force for the next 10 years, and there is alot of goals in them.

It just shows what a sad state english football is in when people like Lampard and P Neville can get into our midfield.

I also agree wayne rooney is a huge talent, but i`m not convinced he`s a out and out striker, with his ball skills and vision i think he would be better just behind the front two in the "peter beardsly"role.

Well he's got an ugly mug to rival beardsly's. Not quite as bad but with time and effort he could fill the facially challenged champs shoes.

from what I saw he fu(ked up every single time he went near the ball infact he was Liechtensteins 12th player . What a complete waster he was.

Owen apart from his goal played a pretty poor game too . His killer instinct wasnt working and he played very hesistant I reckon which was very much out of character for him. Im sure though that if the opponents hadnt had such an excellent goalie that wed have had a scoreline of 6 or 7 to nil. He was a credit to his country and that at the age of 21.

I reckon Owen had a pretty standard game, loads of chances and only scored one, he said himself at the begining its quite hard not to score with Beckham sending those balls from the right.

Dont get me wrong, i know Owen does the business for us, but he isnt some sort of superstar, he a great striker, but thats all he is, Rooney on the other hand seems 10 years ahead of his time in every aspect of his game, He was a credit and an inspiration to his country and all at the age of 17.

Lampard Is so Awful I agress what does he contribute, Defensively or Offensively NOTHING!!.

    -------------James------------------
    G.Neville-----Ferdinand--Campbell----Cole

    ----Beckham----Scholes---Gerrard-----

    -----------Rooney-------------

    ------Heskey-----Owen----------

England Must face facts and forget the left side role forget 442 we have tried for years No Natural Ace Left winger since Waddle so **** it and place three in the middle and rooney behind 2 strikers

This team should play every time and gel A Top footballing Unit just like the Czech Republic Same team every time no experiments and they kick arse.

Wont work, 4-3-1-2 formations are alright against crap teams but against good teams you need to be solid.
    Plus:
1.Scholes is not a holding midfielder, Gerrard is.
So that midfield wouldnt work with Gerrard on the left.
2.Scholes's best feature is being able to get up with the forwards, so having Rooney in the "hole", already addresses that area.
3.James shouldnt be long term keeper, he's playing Div1 footy for god sake, they should phase him out for the Euro champs, and give someone playing Prem footy a chance, like Robinson, youth on his side too!
    4.Cole cant defend!
    5.Gary Neville has a tache
    6.Heskey is crap

So basically your team is a load of shite mate!

    Try:
    --------------Robinson----------------

    Mills-------Rio---------Sol--------Bridge

    --------------Gerrard-------------------
    Beckham----------------------Hargreaves
    --------------Scholes-------------------

    -------Rooney---------Owen------------

Sorry Jimbob but that team is a load of crap.

    1. Danny Mills just hoofs the ball forward each time he gets hold of it and he has a suspect temperament.
    2. Gerard is more effective going forward (he isn't a defensive midfielder) he can tackle but to hold him back would take away from his game.
3.Rooney is not an out and out striker and wouldn't be as effective playing up front alongside owen.

    -----------------James----------------

    Neville---Ferdinand---Campbell----Bridge

    ------------------Butt-----------------

    Beckaham-----------------------Gerrard

    --------Scholes---------Rooney--------

    -----------------Owen-----------------

I'm with Rap on this one.
We should absolutely obliterate any team from a country with a population smaller than most of England's larger towns/smaller cities.

Christ, only 5 full-time players, it's like playing Newcastle Town, not Port Vale.
    Cheers - Coin-Op

2-0 against a team of that quality is pathetic. I think we need to buck our idea's up big time or we'll get whalloped by the durty turk's.

We should be destroying team's like this for fun. :coffee:

On paper they are a decent side .... on the pitch they can be as boring as Liverpool

they can raise their game when needed but still along way to go to have a World Cup Winning / Euro Championship winning side..

Totally agree m8, if people think England can't go up a gear when needed then how did we get to the 1/4 final of the World Cup only last summer and narrowly lost out to the champions.

Same as the game in Macedonia, we did enuff to get the 3 points, mission acomplished, ok we looked poor especially in the 1st half, but when we play the turks we'll move up a gear to get the result and hopefully next summer we'll do the business in Portugal, I'll be disappointed if we don't make the semi's if we keep all the squad fit.

Thing is mate - I think the Turks will frustrate the f :censored k out of us lot - and I think they may sneak the win they need. England would have been better off if they needed to go there to get a win..... its been seen before - when all you need is a draw - it becomes impossible
