    Free Avid video editing software.

Just got an email from Avid saying how they've got a new version out for free.. It is a limited edition compared to its other versions out but to anyone wanting to get into non linear editing and using the industry standard for high quality digital editing grab it here http://www.avid.com/freedv/download.asp

It asks for an email but u have to put in a proper one cos it sends you an authorization code to put in the software once installed.

    Avid Free DV System Requirements
The system requirements for Avid Free DV are similar to Avid Xpress DV so that upgrading is easy. You can experience Avid Free DV, and upgrade to Avid Xpress DV without changing systems or upgrading hardware.

    System requirements are:
    For Windows:
Windows XP OS, 933 MHz or faster Pentium III or any Pentium 4, 256MBs RAM.
    For Macintosh:
Mac OS X 10.2.4 or later, 667 MHz or faster G4, 256MBs RAM.

Yes all you mac users can get it for free to!!

    :thumbs

Error: We’re sorry. You do not appear to be registered in our system. Please click here to register and begin the download process immediately.

You must register to get to that page otherwise it just rejects you, like above.

Also when you say: System requirements are:
    For Windows:
Windows XP OS, 933 MHz or faster Pentium III or any Pentium 4, 256MBs RAM.

Are you saying it only works with WinXP ??

I don't wanna upgrade to XP cos I think it's ****, but need this software for this semester's digital media lesson
