There are plenty of Pioneers about now that are sub £100. These are reputed to be good drives. I like the liteon stuff myself they have a good reputation for CDRW Drives so i don't see why the DVD drives should be different.

I wouldn't like to say that was a good price though.

I don't see how you can justify your argument. Whilst I will agree they are not the first choice for most purchases, on some items they are reasonable and some of the special offers are really good. You have to judge each purchase on it's merits and be aware of current market prices.

Only a few weeks ago I bought the Epson 900 Photo from them following a post in this forum for £75. People are this week saying it's a good deal for £99. On the other hand if you had purchased the USB cable that they push alongside it for £10 you would have been robbed cause they are less than £1 from Ebuyer.

thats def the model you want, dual writer. from what ive heard, these are supposed to give good results even with cheap media. cd writing is very fast as is dvd reading. i think ebuyer are a little cheaper.

installing the writter is easy mate if you need more help tell me now how many hard drives and cdrom or dvdrom drives are you using now because if you got space you can install the dvdwritter along side your other drives or remove something like a cdrw and replace it with your dvdrw make sure when you get it that you set the jumpers right or it wont detect it. Fitting in is easy you just take 2 wires and plug it in a monkey could do it but most the time its about fear of f*king things up.

How is it better?? We all know how good Pioneer drives are don't get me wrong (I own 2 105's myself) but surely the spec on the Lite-on is better. I've had a Lite-on CD burner for about 12 months and it's been great.

seems to be problems with the lite-on, my friend had one and took it back and swapped for a 106. Lots of problems with coasters and after looking around came across this and thought f**k it

Lite on gets my vote I have one of their CD writers no probs what so ever. No reason to say the DVD writer would be any less reliable.
:kissass  Hmm I wonder which 3 this is ????

Have a look here for converting the 401S to 411S (adds -R recording)
