    E-mail Problems!!!

I have a strange problem here and was wondering if you guys could help.

My e-mail addy has been working fine for a good 3 years now, up until friday morning. The problem is that I can't recieve e-mails (keeps asking me for my username/password), but I can send e-mails perfectly fine! When I send an e-mail to myself from someone elses e-mail addy they get a mail delivery error back from their ISP saying that the e-mail could not be delivered.

PLZ help as this is really annoying, I have tried to access my account form outlook express 6 and from the bt internet site (the e-mail addy is on BT internet if that helps), I've tried e-mailing their "tech help", but no reply and I need the addy open ASAP.

P.S. I was getting A LOT of spam and had an anti spam thing on my account, could BT have done this to make these spam companies think the addy is no longer available and to stop??? If they did do that they would have told me, wouldn't they?

P.P.S. At first I though the addy was closed down, so I went to make the addy again, but the BT site says that the addy DOES in fact exist, so I cant make it.

    Thanks

Give them a call and chase their tech support.

Failing that I will drop you an email of things to try :-) lol.

What's the exact message in the mail delivery failure / report?

You can send as you're using the SMTP server which doesn't need credentials, they usually go off source IP address, like oE says have you tried ringing BT and asking them to reset the password?? That will be the quickest way by far.

I just got an e-mail back from their tech support telling me that I could only gett my password by calling the BTopenworld team on 0906 302 3456 (calls charged at 50p a minute at all times), but due to reasons out of my control I can't call premium rate numbers :|, so how am I gonna get my password back??

That sounds like the account has been disabled or deleted mate:

    unknown local-part "domain28" in domain "btinternet.com"

You've still got service with them though so maybe they've shagged something up at their end?

I don't use BT so maybe this is even a way of saying the POP3 box is full but I've got to admit I've never seen that cause this problem mate....

That's what I thought at first m8, but when I go to open it again it says:
The email name you entered domain28 has been reserved by someone else.
How can this be if it doesn't recognise my e-mail addy?

Think ur right m8, they fu(ked something up at their end.

UPDATE: Just called the BT Broadband helpdesk (08456007030) and they told me my account was barred and I'de have to call the billing department????? The thing is it's a free account, so WTF should I call billing, it's not even the main account on the broadband! BT is FU(KED UP! I'm moving to something decent like Pipex 1MB as soon as I can!!
