.00 file extensions

Downloaded an archive from a a newsgroup but instead of rar files I have .00 and onwards. I read on another forum that I need a program called hsplit to join the files , anyway I have joined the files but I don't know what to do next there now is one large file but it is still not a rar file
Any help would be apreciated.

Tried opening it with WinZip, WinRAR, WinAce and see if one of those open it.

Oopen it with Winrar m8.

If you take the original files. Open Winrar and select all the files, then select extract to (wherever you want) you will then end up with an ISO file of the rpgram downloaded.
