I want me brother in America to send me a PDA, something like a Asus A620 is $300 (£175) where as they are £300 over here.
So im just wondering how i could avoid all the costs of it being imported.

"it's not that i'm lazy, it's that i just don't care"
1.Ask the vendor in the US to write you a receipt that is for a nominal value i.e $25 and when you ship it from the US, British customs will think that it is of low value and let you away with it. Attach the receipt to the box.
2.Or you can take it out of its packaging etc... and declare that they are personal goods of low value. I did this with an expensive hi fi a few years back.
3.Take a chance and say it is a gift and see it they let you away with it...
1. will work if they dont open package, but some will get searched. when they realise you're lying you are going to pay the full amount (they arent stupid btw)
2. will maybe work, same with 3. I've had a lot better luck saying that its being returned for repair, its just luck really.
