Default Help with Keeping Mobile Number

    Hello,

I need a bit of advice...

Years and years ago when i got my first contract phone i paid for a gold number from vodaphone... since then i moved to o2 when they started giving free text messages (then found the network was crap) so i moved to orange 11months ago.

In a months time my contact will come to an end and i am really wanting to stay with orange... but change to their new deal where you get 500text messages & 200anytime minutes a month for £30... but when i phoned them up they told me i would have to lose my number... and whatever happens i cant lose my phone number as it would be too much hassle telling everyone!!

Orange told me the only way around this is to start the new contract (with the deal i want) then transfer my old contract to a pay as you go connection... then 4 months later i will be allowed to transfer it to my new contract... but thats 4 months without my number... which is a pain in the arse!!

Does anyone know an easier way to get a number on a current orange tarrif to a new orange tarrif without waiting 4 months!?

    Thanks for any help

    DG

Doubt it m8! If that's what orange said was the only thing you could do, then that's all you can do!

Similar problem that I had with Orange earlier in the year, yes you can have a new contract with the phone you want for £x but if you want to keep your number you'll have to upgrade and pay £loads. Only other option is to move from orange again and take your number with you....
