ECM or Box fault?

Hi guys,

Since friday night my box has started having the following problems:-
1. Screen freezes for a second then restarts.
2. Screen goes black then comes back after a second.

Is this an ECM or a fault with the box?

Please help, thanks in advance.

check the card isnt fulll of ppv events once the memory gets full its does silly things like this,so do signal problems,also change cam id from 00 00 00 00 if you have it set at that.its not an ecm.

sounds like weak signal to me. whilst watching a channel, press pg up, pg down, then the blue button on the remote. look at the pre and post rs error readings. you may find you have values of 1000+ (should be 0 or very low with good signal)

pre RS errors. i think this tell you of the quality of the signal for that particular channel.

The box i have came from a trader who has since been nicked, is it possible my box key or something has been black listed. Hence why the picture keeps going.

Is it possible to read my box key off the funcard 4? If i can could I try re flashing the firmware or something? Re programming the card?

I have been having exactly the same problem, but my subbed box is fine. I have tried a new tuner, fun and mosc but still all channels freezing and locking up. Last night I had another play and just removed my card, the On request preview was perfect. I put the fun card back in and all channels watchable again. Not sure what's causing it but was able to watch all night without any problems. Hope this helps

Tried what u said mate, but it comes back after a while.

do you have a splitter at all? as i think this would reduce the signal to that box. try removing the splitter and use on that box on the line for a while see what happens.

Yes do have a splitter on that box. If I run along side sub box, sub box is ok. I'll try running on its own tonight. Let you know what happens.

yup of course you can get boxkey from your funcard. on the top of my head i don't remember much, but there is a programme which willl help you obtain the BK from a funcard

Just read card. Got box key & IRD. Using RST created new hex's. Still picture going, freezing etc. I was hoping my card had been ecm'ed or something. I think the box is knackered. Think I need a new tuner. Anyone got one forsale? If so please PM me.

it happen to my box as well, two weeks ago and yesterday as well it did not work hole day and in the evening i tryed to resat after long battel with it it did work it was acting funy first every thing was fllashing then after wile it got to a pase and it started swithing on off now it works but it sayes memorry is full i am using afun card

its a fault on the box
i had same problem with subbed box and cable replaced it

You can get rid of memory full in Libdebug by erasing sram then putting net id/pin etc back in.

@sicilian, what does the eng menu say on pages 12 and 13, are u getting a 'lock'? If not it may well be the tuner.

Thanks for the reply m8, I'm not getting a lock on the MCNS upstream page 13(well thats what i think it was

). On one of the pages it says tuning parameters corrupt. Tried another tuner with no joy. Is there a way of fixing the parameters with libdebug?
