My tivo is now fully hacked. I assumed it would make it`s daily call
for free. Is this not the case. Or have I missed something.

Whats the point of hacking the tivo if, all you can do is extract video.

Its what I hacked it for to extract the video, but free subscription was
expected.. am I wrong.

yes, you cant get free subscription using dialup. Its not a bad thing - dont want Tivo stopping the uk service.

A Canadian TiVo group did produce a method of bypassing the subscription and there is now an Australian group who also do this. The problem is getting the guide data to put on your TiVo.

Only thing to remember is that you can only use this where it is not possible to get a TiVo service or it would be illegal
