Default Connect Xbox to PC? Is this possible?

    Hello,

I would like to play my Xbox through my computer and record video of my games and make screen shots. I have a GeForce 4 ti graphics card that only has S-video out. I bought a s-video adapter for the xbox, connected it to my graphics card and have been trying various multimedia software apps for TV with no way of reading the xbox.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?
    Thanks!

That because it is tv out and not tv in. Buy a tv tuner card if you want to play and record.

Hmm...That is an o.k. solution, the best solution is get all-in-one ATI card. That is how I do my video capturing and editing. >>

I have a WinTVToGo (£30) card that has a video in. Just plug in your yellow vid cable and run the winTV software. It has a built-in recorder for both snapshots and avi capture. I did a test 5second sample to see if it did the job and it took 19Mb for the 5 secs (no compression). Will use any codecs you have on your system.
Here is a captured screenshot anyway.

    No probs.
Credits to original author tho'. I just modded the text fields to suit me.

When you extract it you should have one in the extract folder and one in a sub-folder called sg1-info.

    Enjoy.

    Cable for what, xboilerman ?
The WinTV either goes in your PC slot or you buy a USB version which plugs, surprisingly into a spare USB socket. Then you install the software.
Your AV cable from the Xbox plugs into the TV card/box. Yellow-yellow for video. White-white and Red-red for sound.
If you want sound input with the type of card I have, you have to buy an adaptor from Maplins that accepts the two red&white sound phono plugs and plugs into the line-in or mic-in of your sound card.

I record console footgae with my MiniDV cam corder that has analog in via a RGB select box from Console Plus. Crispy video and it makes it right easy for adding effects, titles etc.
