Need some information

Hi:nowords:

Is it illegal to purchase a premodded xbox or a mod chip? Ive read it was illegal and ive read it wasnt. I cant figure out what the answer is. Also, I read that someone got in trouble for selling them from his website. I just want to know if I would get in trouble for purchasing a premodded xbox basically. Anyone have an answer to this. Thanks a lot.

well you dont rally get in trouble for buying one

its usually the peopel who are selling them that get in trouble - as its kinda hard to prove you are chippd unless they go inside your console once it's done

I suppose it depends on whether the modded X-box police have you under survelance when you buy it, or if one of your friends becomes so jealous they cant contain it and reports you for it.

I think it is to do with the BIOS on the chip that the retailer is selling. :nowords:
If you sell a electronic chip with a blank BIOS then it is just a chip!
If you sell a electronic chip with a BIOS which is ment to trick you Xbox in thinking that the game ( back up ) you are playing is real,then that is when it gets dodgy.
Either way you will be alright mate.

But remember, disable the mod when using XBL, otherwise you'll end up getting your box banned, if it hasn't already been banned by the vendor.

Thanks guys for all your posts.

I know i wasnt going to jail or anything like that, i just wanted to be about 95% sure that it was legal before i had my parents buy it. Thanks again for everyones help.
