    K7S5A Bios Update

    Hi,
Rebuilt my old computer upstairs the other day it's an EliteGroup K7S5A Motherboard and an AMD Athlon Thunderbird 1GHZ Processor. I've got the updated BIOS on Floppy but don't know how to update it. Any help would be appreciated.

    Read This M8 http://www.ecs.com.tw/download/bios_m.htm

Follow the instructions next to your correct bios.

Just done the samething myself today.
A couple of good pages are
    http://pub140.ezboard.com/bk7s5amotherboardforum

Its easy if the hd is formated in fat32, its harder if ntfs.
There is a windows flasher you can use. I used it with out any problems!!
If you want it pm me and ill email it you.

I downloaded both the files, the first one is the flash utility (.EXE file) and the second a self-extracting Zip file containing a ROM file, obviously the Bios. Do I format the floppy as a normal one or create MS-DOS boot disk and do I unzip the ROM file from the self-extracting Zip or put it on as that. Another thing, the HDD will be running Windows 2000 Professional and formatted NTFS when my new Maxtor 120GB replaces this one.

    Thanks

I'm not experiencing any real problems with the Bios and I've been advised to leave it alone. I'm not going to bother.

    Thanks
