Sound Problem

Basicly, I have a Medion laptop. For some reason I decided to merge both the partitions that came with it and installed Windows XP again. So, I installed all the drivers etc... that came with the laptop only to find that the inbuilt speakers work... but, each second there is like a tweet. Its quite annoying.

Now, i spent ages downoading things and then when i went into sound properties (see picture attached), it had about 10 options for me to mute. Well, I muted the Phone Line option and the sound stopped, fantastic! But because my laptop was all over the place, me not thinking right i formatted and installed XP again. Its now been 2 days and I cannot find how to mute the phone line in sound properties.

I have been in the volume; then properties to pick what sound catorgories to choose from but phone line isnt there

Please help as it is really stressing me out.

you've probably got the default windows xp drivers installed. go to your soundcard's manufacturer's website and download their drivers and install those instead.

Nope, ive installed the drivers that came with my medion laptop, i have also been to my sound cards website and downloaded the newest driver
