    Default DC++ upload bandwidth problem

    Hi,

    I am using DC++ to conenct to various hubs and it all works fine except for when I get a couple of people uploading from me it maxs out my upload bandwidth (256kbs) completely and all my download speeds drop to 1 or 2 K/s. As soon as the uploads have finshed or disconnected my Downloads speed up again.

    Is it possible to restrict the upload speed to reserve some of it for me or is there a bug fix for this ?? I am using the lastest version of DC++.

    Cheers
    Ironman

    using netlimiter will get you banned from most hubs.

    there's an option in the settings, advanced section you can enable if uploads are crippling your downloads.

    Haven't see netlimiter get me banned anywhere, not even sure netlimiter can be spotted, as long as you are sensible with it.

    I find my connection max's out at about 30kb/s (i.e. downloads come to a standstill), so I just limit my uploads to 28kb/s and it sorts it.

    The setting you are talking about is "send small packets" (I think) - I found this made no difference to my problem.

    there are throttles in ++ odc and they will get you banned from most hubs as does netlimiter, which does get noticed, would you be on cable by any chance, as this sucks up/down in dc

    I'm on dsl with pipex but dc++ just won't work - what am I doing wrong then, wouldn't mind dumping netlimiter if I could get this fixed - I've found netlimiter has solved all my probs?

    I posted this same query in the hub forum but never really got an answer.
