devastation weird problem

has anyone ever seen this before.

i got hold of a backup of ddevastation, this had been downloaded by me m8,s m8, anyway when i install the game it installs fine, then i start the game, the intro comes on then the game goes off, then it opens my browser and takes me to a website about piracy.

when it first happened i shite myself, i was sittin there stunned thinkin WTF.

so guys, anyone ever seen this before, i really wanna play this game as if its any good i really dont mind buying it, but dont want to if its shite.

any ideas really appreciated

I have this and its not much good in my opinion. Not sure about the problem though mate.

I used to get a similar prob on WinME playing MOHAA, when it loaded the level it would minimise and boot IE!?! Turned out that I had 'Always dial a connection' enabled in IE.. check that, it might help...

i dont have those options m8 as im on broadband, so the page just opens, the game dont just minimise either it totaly goes off.

very odd i must say, ive played a demo of the game, was okish, i just wanna play a bit more, but looks like i cant.

Unfortunatly FE_MAN is correct. I let him borrow the game because it looks very pretty (Especially on the higher spec gfx cards) - however the game is kinda hollow and "feels" incomplete. It's a very basic shoot em up. Shame I wasted �20 buying it - could have bought a couple of rounds at my local instead :grr:

i bought this when it came out, still sits on my shelf , never got round to install it. did notice that it was in the 'Game' sale for �7.99 .. i also picked up rtcw extended edition for �9.99...hours of entertainment for bugger all !!

Just depends how long you are willing to wait for a title... I got Raven Shield for �10 from Play.com and it is class.... especially online...

Although now that HL2 Beta is 'available' I will be busy with that from now on....
