Xbox fails to boot

Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem to this?

Got my xbox a couple fo weeks ago and was just using it. Turned it off and it started making wierd whirring noises and eventually powered off. Now when i try to turn it on the green light powers up for a second, then goes off, then powers up again and goes off and then the light comes on and flashes red and green constantly?

I've left it for a while and it is still doing the same thing!

It's not been modded in any way, as it seems that this is a fairly common problem with modded boxes.

Just wondering what peeps think i should do, shall I just take it back and exchange it or ring up m$ (do they charge to fix it even if under warranty?)

send it back if its still under warrenty, they wont charge you

if youhave had it less than a year the guarentee should be held with the retailer u bought the box from

Yeah, I get that on the odd occasion with my XBOX. Although not once since I resoldered the chip back in.

Just return it under the warranty. Even if it isn't, buy a new one from argos, swap it and return it saying it's faulty
