    Default Region 1 Dvd's

Right, I've been surfing here for an hour or so and getting nowhere... I'm new to the xbox, and am looking for some info. I have just gotten some region 1 dvds which I cannot play on my xbox. I am trying to find a way to play them without too much difficulty!! I only seem to be able to find ways of doing this by modchipping the xbox and at the moment I don't really have time (though its a definite future project!!). By maybe I am missing something... anyway, could someone help me out?
How do I play region 1 dvds without modding the xbox?

... or if you have a DVD writer and are able to copy DVD's... you can use slysofts anydvd util that kills all protection on the DVD which means your copied DVD will be region free!

actually thats a great idea! well, I have a friend who has a small dvd copying industry going (just to keep him in college books he promises!). So I could get him to copy what i need copied!!

Though i'd still like a solution that doesn't require copying all of them!

There are 3 ways to play a region 1 disk on w UK Xbox.

    1. mod it and use unregioned player software.
    2. Region X disk as mentioned above
    3. get a US DVD kit

Thats it mate - I didnt mention reburning the DVD's as that doesnt really count.

The Region X DVD kit doesn't seem to be on sale anywhere and amazon.co.uk have removed it from their listings. Does anyone know what's going on here?

I believe there were issue with it and it didnt work on all Xbox's - I thought it had been discontinued but I have a modded xbox so I have never looked into it. Try a Computer Exchange shop local to you - they may have it. It was released for a while.

you could always do the memory card trick so you dont have to chip the xbox then run dvdx which is free, but ive found it wont like it if you want to switch films without rebooting your box
"Erm, I think we're losing sight of the real issue here, which is 'What are we gonna call ourselves?' Erm, and I think it comes down to a choice between 'The League Against Salivating Monsters' or my own personal preference, which is 'The Committee for the Liberation and Integration of Terrifying Organisms and their Rehabilitation Into Society'. Erm, one drawback with that - the abbreviation is 'CLITORIS'." - Rimmer - Polymorph

i think hes refering to the 007 trick, you can boot evox off a memory card and i presume you could add the dvdregion x thing to the evox aswell

basically you need a modded xbox (your mates or somethin) to set up the memcard and a copy of 007 agent under fire.

    just mod the bloody xbox!

Forget it more effort than its worth.

see here for details - you need files from already modded xbox, a copy of 007 underfire - a memory card etc etc.
